Twelve-way Radial Match Part 7

Step 22:  Align, stack and tape the veneer sheets with blue tape as described in step 3.

Step 23:  Clamp the veneer stack under a straightedge and cut side A.

Step 24:   Carefully loosen the blue tape and remove sheet 12 from the stack.  Set sheet 12 aside for later.  Reapply the blue tape to secure the remaining 11 sheets and cut side B.

Step 25:  Refer to the drawing at the left to understand how the sheets in the stack will be positioned around the outside of the circle.

Note that while the border is shown as a finished circle the final step of actually cutting the circle will not be done until later.  The purpose of this diagram is to illustrate the relative position of the sheets and the order in which they are attached to the circle, starting with piece 1.  Piece 2 is flipped over and attached to the right edge of piece 1.  Piece 3 is flipped over and attached to the left side of piece 1.  Sheet 4 and 5 are attached to piece 2 and 3 and are not flipped over, etc.

Place sheet 1 under the circle as shown at the left.:

Adjust sheet 1 in or out such that the radials coming from the center of the circle align perfectly with the edge of the sheet and secure with blue tape as shown at the left:

Step 26:  Flip over sheets two and four and attach them to sheet 1 and the circle as shown below:

Step 27: Continue working around the circle taping attaching the pieces using the drawing in step 25 as a guide.  The drawing at the left shows the project just before the final sheet (sheet 12) is attached.  Remember that you did not cut the “B” side of sheet 12.  You will cut and fit sheet 12 in the next step.
