Twelve-way Radial Match Part 5

Step 14:  Attach sheet 11 to sheet 9 as you did sheet 1 to sheet 3 as shown left:

Apply only blue tape the joints at this time.

Step 15:  Attach sheet 2 to 4 and 12 to 10 as shown at left.  Apply only blue tape at this time.

Step 16:  Use the 30 degree triangle and a straight edge to establish the approximate location of the final joint on both halves.  Note that this will be a first approximation and that the final exact placement of the joints will be determined later.  See the drawings left:

Step 17: Draw a second line parallel to the first line about ½ inch away as shown in the drawing above.  Place the assembly under a straightedge and cut along the second parallel line to the final line.  Note that you have not yet used veneer tape to secure pieces 1 or 11 yet.  Place the left assembly over the right assembly as illustrated in the two drawings at the left:

Make any final adjustments to the positions of pieces 1, 2, 11, and 12 now to perfect the pattern.  Once you are satisfied, secure piece 1 to 3, 11 to 9, 2 to 4, and 12 to 10 with veneer tape on the veneer tape side.
